Charter Hall Group (Charter Hall or the Group) today announced that it has signed a two-year partnership with Cricket NSW, focussed on supporting its women’s teams.
This is Charter Hall’s second major sporting partnership, as it continues its support of the Shute Shield, and provides the Group with an opportunity to connect with a new audience and promote diversity in sport.
Charter Hall Managing Director and Group CEO, David Harrison, said, “We are pleased to be partnering with Cricket NSW to support women’s sport and invest in greater diversity in cricket, which is well-aligned with our broader strategy to invest in community partnerships and drive meaningful engagement that effects change for the better.
“At our core, we invest in the value of people and place, and with that we are committed to supporting organisations where we can have a positive impact on the futures of individuals and our communities more broadly. We look forward to helping female athletes across NSW pursue their talent and love for cricket, while working closely with Cricket NSW to elevate women’s sport for fans across the state.”
Cricket NSW CEO, Lee Germon, said, “It is fantastic to have Charter Hall on board as a sponsor of this great sport and specifically to be dedicating their investment to furthering women’s cricket, which is a fast growing part of Cricket NSW. Our NSW Women’s Cricket team is the most successful domestic team in Australia and this partnership will ensure that together we can create more opportunity and support better, brighter futures for our female players and young aspiring players both on and off the field.”
NSW Breakers Captain Alyssa Healy, said, “We have an incredible group of female players within Cricket NSW and it has been inspiring to see so many young girls finding a love for the sport. It’s important that we foster that passion from a young age and provide opportunity for these girls, while also equipping our players with the skills they need to succeed once their cricket careers come to an end. It’s through sponsors like Charter Hall that we are able to provide that support.”
As part of its partnership, Charter Hall will run a Mentoring Program, where senior Charter Hall employees will become mentors to NSW Women’s Team players. The Mentoring Program will draw on both the senior female and male ranks of Charter Hall, where it has 40% female composition among its senior leadership teams across operating sectors.
Charter Hall will be designated as an Official Partner of Cricket NSW, Major Partner of NSW Women’s Team (NSW Breakers), Official Sydney Sixers & Sydney Thunder WBBL Partner, Official Partner of NSW Indigenous Women’s Team and NSW State Challenge (female youths).
