Innovation Quarter (iQ) brings together world class research and Australia’s leading businesses, innovators and academics to solve today’s global challenges.

The development comprises 43,000sqm of mixed use research, health, commercial and retail space across three state-of-the-art towers. Within each building, large and flexible floorplates will offer a variety of office configurations, while future-proofed technology will support a forward-thinking workforce. The east and west towers will share a central square, lined with cafés, restaurants, bars, and boutiques – an expansive open-air lifestyle destination for Westmead.

iQ will be a multidisciplinary research space that allows collaboration between business, health and research – a ‘living lab’ that fosters the sharing of knowledge and resources.

iQ is the result of a close collaboration between Western Sydney University and Charter Hall. These two respected names are leading the way in shaping Westmead, Australia’s most innovative suburb.

NABERS Energy

NABERS Energy measures the efficiency of an office building and rates either the base building, tenancy or whole building. An energy ratings works by comparing the energy consumption of a building against a set of benchmarks that have been developed using actual data. A NABERS Energy rating can be done with or without GreenPower. Base building Energy rating: occurs when central services like heating and cooling systems, lifts and lobby lighting are rated. Tenancy Energy rating: when businesses choose to rate the space they occupy within a building. Whole building Energy rating: this rates the base building and tenant occupied space. This usually occurs when there is a single tenant occupying an entire building.
