One of Australia’s leading property groups, Charter Hall Group, today announced a strategic partnership with the SMSF Association, an independent, professional body representing Australia’s self-managed super fund sector, and with over 1.1 million Australians now self-managing their super.

The SMSF Association is highly regarded as the preeminent provider of education, technical expertise and support to those involved in the provision of advice and services to the SMSF sector and trustees says Steven Bennett, Head of Direct Property at Charter Hall.

Steven Bennett

Commenting on the strategic partnership with the SMSF Association he says: “We are delighted to form an alliance with the SMSF Association as a major sponsor for the State Technical Events and provide ongoing research and resources for its Trustee Knowledge Centre.

“We have seen an increased demand and appetite for commercial property investment from the SMSF sector. Through the Association we hope to work closely with the SMSF advisers and professionals to educate this sector on the benefits of investing in this asset class as the trustees continue to search for strong reliable yield and income, given other asset class alternatives.

“The SMSF Association via its member base of professionals who advise the SMSF market has substantial reach to all or most parties involved in this growing sector as well as providing a voice and managing the policy framework.

“We are very pleased to work with the Association’s dedicated employees who have demonstrated strong skills and understanding of the SMSF sector and are looking to continue to support the growth in the SMSF market.”

Recently Charter Hall participated in the SMSFA’s Technical Days. These one-day conferences were held in all the mainland capital cities, and attracted professionals working in the field of SMSF advice. The conferences include a wide range of topical and technical presentations and case studies and had high levels of engagement and involvement from delegates.

“We look forward to continue to engage with their members across a vast breadth of educational forums at state, national and branch levels,” says Mr Bennett.

“Further, we’ll be participating in the SMSFA’s face to face events and webinars for trustees in 2017. These events will provide a great opportunity to explore the latest SMSF insights, investment outlooks, legislative updates and management strategies and provide important takeaways.”

Look out for Charter Hall presence at the upcoming SMSFA Trustee Knowledge Events and in their resources library online:
