Peter Barnes

Peter Barnes has had extensive industry experience over 36 years through various cycles and market conditions.

Peter’s career has spanned multiple relevant roles for his role as Chair and Independent Board Director of Charter Hall Investment Management Limited including the investment, ownership, divestment and development of commercial property in all major metropolitan markets.

In addition to Peter’s current role as CPIF Independent Investment Committee Member since 2006, he is also the Chairman of Real Estate at PPB Advisory, Non-Executive Director of Heathley Asset Management Limited, Non-Executive Director of the Valad Core Plus Fund and a member of the Advisory Board for Taylor Constructions.

Peter’s experience includes 5 years with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia as Executive Vice President and Head of Property Lending, 6 years with Lend Lease as its Internal Auditor and Operations Manager and 20 years as a Director and Managing Director of CRI Australia Ltd.

Peter holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from University of NSW and is a fellow of the Australian Property Institute and a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
