Furthering its partnership with NSW Rugby Union, Charter Hall is pleased to announce it has secured naming rights for the Shute Shield.

An important cornerstone of community sport, Charter Hall CEO and Group Managing Director David Harrison, said the partnership affirms Charter Hall’s commitment to supporting the next generation of young players.

“At Charter Hall we’re focused on creating better futures and mutual success for all our stakeholders. Key to this is our focus on creating strong communities.

“As the principal sponsor of the Charter Hall Shute Shield, we understand the importance of grassroots rugby in fostering talent, and strengthening communities through bringing people together.

“The competition has experienced a tremendous resurgence since we first partnered with NSW Rugby Union three years ago. We are excited to be a part of this momentum of success.”

Established in 1923, Australia’s oldest premier rugby competition enters a new era, with the Charter Hall Shute Shield securing Stan Sport and Nine as broadcast partners.

President of Sydney Rugby Union Phillip Parsons welcomed Charter Hall as naming rights sponsor in a time when club rugby has never been more visible in this country.

“It’s fantastic to have such a proud rugby supporter in Charter Hall back in the NSW Rugby family as naming rights sponsor of the Shute Shield.

“The Shute Shield is one of the most iconic club rugby competitions in the world and is more open and exciting than ever, with five different champions in the past six seasons.

“For the first time, every match will be available to watch live on Stan Sport, giving fans the opportunity to watch the entire season from the comfort of their homes.  There has never been a better time to be involved in club rugby.”

The Charter Hall Shute Shield kicks off on Saturday 10 April, featuring 13 teams playing 19 rounds, culminating in three weeks of finals and a Grand Final on Saturday 11 September.

Throughout the season, Charter Hall will give customers the opportunity to be part of the action, offering tickets to matches across NSW.
