When we asked our tenants in 65 Berry Street, North Sydney, for their suggestions on how we could improve their experience and refurbish the lobby, little did they know how faithfully we’d follow their advice.
We knew the mostly millennial workforce of our tenants, including agency GroupM, would provide fresh and exciting ideas. And they did not disappoint. Many tenants told us that they were looking for a vibrant, fresh and inviting lobby, while others suggested more greenery and natural light, creatives spaces akin to Central Park’s Spice Alley, and wellness and yoga areas. A place where the building community can flourish.
Building work/life balance into Berry Street’s foundations
Understanding that our tenants are increasingly looking for third spaces to rest, revive and work away from their desks, we commissioned WMK Architecture to design a lobby that would extend our tenants’ workspaces — an inspiring environment where they could work, welcome guests or relax.
WMK responded with a beautiful, minimalist design for the 1,000sqm lobby, incorporating a wellness area, artist studio, exhibition space and auditorium, and open-air communal workstations. Lavish plants throughout create a relaxing and healthy environment for the building’s tenants, and free wifi encourages occupants to linger in the space.
