171 Collins Street, Melbourne leases over 11,000sqm of office space
Charter Hall and Cbus Property today announced the execution of a lease with Wood Group PSN at 171 Collins Street, Melbourne.
Wood Group PSN, a global provider of brownfield production services to the oil and gas and utilities industries, will lease approximately 6,800 square metres of office space later this year.
The new announcement follows a string of quality tenants secured for the building, including McGrathNicol leasing 1,666 square metres over level six and Vic Super Pty Limited leasing 2,750 square metres over levels nine and part of level eight.
171 Collins Street has been a commercial success story for the joint venture partners. The recent deals have resulted in over 11,000 square metres being leased since completion in May 2013, leaving only one full floor, and three smaller suites available for lease. The appointed leasing agents for 171 Collins Street are Colliers International and Knight Frank.
Craig Newman, Fund Manager, Charter Hall Office Trust said: "We are delighted to welcome Wood Group PSN, another global leader in their sector, to 171 Collins Street and are pleased with having been able to attract such high quality groups to the building.
Following the recent leasing activity 90% of the leasable space is committed at 171 Collins Street. Tenants are attracted by a Collins Street address, with the Paris end remaining highly sought after by corporates, along with the high quality office accommodation and service offering, integrated energy and water efficiency technologies as well as featuring market leading end of trip facilities."
Wood Group PSN will join BHP Billiton, Egon Zehnder and Evans & Partners who have been in occupation since mid 2013. The building is also home to Dolce & Gabbana and renowned chef, Andrew McConnell who has also just commenced trading of his newest restaurant, Super Normal at the building.
Adrian Pozzo, Chief Executive Officer of Cbus Property, said, "The addition of Wood Group PSN to 171 Collins Street's already impressive list of tenants further solidifies this building's position as the best office address in Melbourne. Since its inception we have had a vision for 171 Collins Street to be an iconic address and this has now been realised."
171 Collins Street is designed by award-winning architects Bates Smart and sets a benchmark for contemporary and sustainable office design. It features an impressive arrival experience with a nine story glass atrium, premium finishes and facilities, efficient side core floors and a woven crystalline facade that provides an iconic focal point to Melbourne's city skyline. The building is Victoria's first PCA Premium Grade 6 Star Green Star office building in 20 years and is targeting both a 6 Star Green Star as-built rating and 5 star NABERS Energy rating.
Cbus Property and Charter Hall formed a 50:50 Joint Venture in March 2010 to jointly market, lease and develop the project with a long term strategy to own and manage the building. The joint venture combines Charter Hall and Cbus Property's complementary development capabilities as well as a strong track record in leasing and asset management.
