Charter Hall Group (CHC), one of Australia's leading property fund managers, is pleased to announce it has commenced construction of the $50 million bulky goods centre, Home HQ Ipswich, at West Ipswich.

Home HQ Ipswich is a new, dynamic one-stop shopping destination for home, lifestyle and entertainment goods and will comprise more than 12,000m2 of modern retail space and 250 car spaces. Home HQ Ipswich has been designed to create an enjoyable shopping environment and is fitted with high tech safety/security cameras to ensure consumer comfort and security.

Charter Hall's Queensland Development Director, Ian Walker said major earthworks on the Brisbane Street site were complete and Ipswich Central's first full line bulky goods centre was about to take shape.

"The concrete panels that will form the walls and the roof are being prefabricated on site and will be erected over the next fortnight," Mr Walker said. "The first building to appear will house our foundation tenants and national retailers Spotlight and Fantastic Furniture. Construction is scheduled to be completed in time for Christmas trading."

Mr Walker said interest in Home HQ Ipswich was high with prospective tenants eager to be part of the project. "Ipswich is emerging as a great place to invest, live, shop, work and play," Mr Walker said.

Charter Hall has a proven track record of delivering and managing large scale successful bulky good centres. Contributing more than $1 million towards the upgrade of the surrounding Ipswich road network, Charter Hall is getting behind the Ipswich community.
