Charter Hall Direct VA Trust sale of units, final payment and 16.4% pa aggregate return since inception 

As part of Management's regular review of the trust's strategy, a public sales campaign for the trust's asset was undertaken in order to maximise risk-adjusted returns for investors. 

At the conclusion of the sales campaign, Management determined it was in the best interests of investors to sell the trust's asset. The most attractive of the offers to acquire the trust's asset was structured as an offer to acquire all of the issued units in the trust (the 'Offer') and was approved by the Responsible Entity. 

The purchase price of the units under the Offer effectively values the trust's asset at $90.8 million.  The transaction under the Offer will provide investors with a final unit sale price of $1.3433 per unit which reflects an aggregate return of 16.4% per annum since inception of the trust (including an average distribution yield of 8.9% per annum based on $1.00 initial investment).

All units in the trust will be transferred to the purchaser on or around 4 January 2018, with a final payment to trust investors to occur on or around 25 January 2018.

Total offer of $42.35 million fully committed and now closed to investment

With significant support from our highly valued investors and financial advisers, the Charter Hall Direct VA Trust has now attained commitments in respect of the total offer amount of $42.35 million.

The closure of the trust is ahead of expectations and once again demonstrates the overwhelming appetite by investors for quality direct property.

Regrettably, any further applications that may be received for the trust are unable to be processed. Future applications will be returned to the applicant with their funds.

The trust is an unlisted property syndicate investing in the Australian headquarters for Virgin Australia and is well positioned to provide investors with solid total returns over the trust's life.
