Peter Barnes Peter Barnes
Independent Chair

Peter Barnes has had extensive industry experience over 35 years though various cylces and market conditions. Peter’s career has spanned mutliple relevant roles for his role as Chair and Indpendent Board Diretor of Charter Hall Investment Managemnet Limited including the investment, ownership, divestment and development of commercial property in all major metropolitan markets.

In addition to Peter’s current role as CPIF Independent Investment Committee Member since 2006, he is also the Chairman of Real Estate at PPB Advisory, Non Executive Director of Heathley Asset Management Limited, Non Executive Director of the Valad Core Plus Fund and a member of the Advisory Board for Taylor Constructions.

Peter’s experience includes 5 years with the Commonwealth Bank of Austrlia as Executive Vice President and Head of Property Lending, 6 years with Lend Lease as its Internal Auditor and Operations Manager and 20 years as a Director and Managing Director of CRI Australia Ltd.

Peter holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from University of NSW and is a fellow of the Australian Property Institute and a Fellow of the Royal Instituion of Chartered Surveyors.

Ray FazzolariRay Fazzolari

Ray has over 40 years’ experience in the finance and property industries. He is the founding chair of Aqua Funds’s Credit Risk Committee and, more recently, has taken a hands-on role in managing Aqua mortgage positions that have been impacted by the Global Financial Crisis. Ray has held senior positions as General Manager at St Hilliers, with responsibility for the company’s development and property investment activities.

Prior to that, he spent 15 years with Leda Holdings, a substantial private property group, with seven of those years as Managing Director and 11 years in commercial finance as General Manager of Real Estate with Citibank. Ray’s experience in the finance and property ranges from lending through to loan workout and recovery.

 

Walter Carpenter

Walter Carpenter is a successful business leader and company director. Walter was previously the Chairman of the Campus Living Villages Fund and has many years of experience in the acquisition and successful merger of companies, the expansion of sales teams and company revenues, the creation of systems to facilitate the administration, management and corporate governance of small and medium sized business that are undergoing rapid growth.

Walter has previously been involved in significant commercial property transactions over a 30 year career including as the Chief Executive Officer of national commercial property agency and valuations firms Savills (Australia), General Manager of First Pacific Davies (Hong Kong), and a Manager at Jardine Fleming Australia Capital Ltd. Walter also retains significant financial transaction and financial industry experience from his experience working as a Manager in Corporate Banking from Lloyds Bank NZA, ABN Australia and in addition as a Senior Auditor at Price Waterhouse in Sydney.


David Harrison
Managing Director and Group CEO

David has 31 years of property market experience across office, retail and industrial sectors in multiple geographies globally.  As Charter Hall Managing Director and Group CEO, David is responsible for all aspects of the Charter Hall business, with specific focus on strategy. He continues to build the momentum of a $20.4 billion investment portfolio and is recognised as a multi-core sector market leader.  David is an executive member of various Fund Boards and Partnership Investment Committees, Chair of the Executive Property Valuation Committee and Executive Leadership Group.

David has overseen the growth of the Charter Hall Group from $500 million to $20.4 billion of assets under management in 12 years.  David has been principally responsible for transactions exceeding $25 billion of commercial, retail and industrial property assets over the past 27 years.

David holds a Bachelor of Business Degree (Land Economy) from the University of Western Sydney, is a Fellow of the Australian Property Institute (FAPI) and holds a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance from the Securities Institute of Australia.

Sean McMahon
Chief Investment Officer and Industrial CEO

Sean has over 27 years of property and investment banking experience in the real estate sector and has been active in the listed, wholesale and direct capital markets. Sean is responsible for the Group’s strategy and balance sheet investments, mergers and acquisitions, with oversight for multi sector disciplines including property transactions, together with corporate development.

He brings a wealth of experience across investment markets, diversified across office, industrial and retail sectors, and has been responsible for driving the development of corporate strategies, capital allocation and reinvestment programs.

Prior to joining Charter Hall, Sean worked at national diversified property group Australand (now known as Frasers) as Chief Investment Officer and was previously responsible for investment and development for all commercial, industrial and retail property.
