The Charter Hall Group is pleased to announce Australia Post has leased retail space at Charter Hall's Northbank Plaza, located at 69 Ann Street in Brisbane. Australia Post has leased 258m² of retail space for an 11 year term.
Northbank Plaza is part of the Group's $500 million Brisbane CBD twin tower office development, which includes the newly completed 275 George Street and the 2008 completed Northbank Plaza complex. Designed to achieve a 4 Star NABERS Energy rating, Northbank Plaza is an A-Grade building comprising 26,000m² over 22 levels of commercial office space, with ground floor retail tenancies integrated with the retail of the adjoining 275 George Street tower.
Northbank Plaza was redeveloped last year by Charter Hall in a joint venture between its managed wholesale funds, Core Plus Office Fund (CPOF) and Opportunity Fund No.4 (CHOF4).
Northbank Plaza is tenanted on long term leases to Telstra, Parsons Brinckerhoff (PB), plus other high profile tenants including the Bureau of Meteorology and Regus, whilst also accommodating Charter Hall's Queensland office. Australia Post compliments the retail mix for the 67,000m² twin tower complex.
David Harrison, Charter Hall's Joint Managing Director said: "We are delighted with the 11 year commitment from Australia Post which maintains a 9 year WALE for the entire complex. The opening of the Australia Post store further reinforces this complex as a landmark convenience retail and food destination within Brisbane CBD. The recent opening of Telstra's T-life store and the Cicada Group's food outlets at 275 George Street has enhanced the amenity for tenants and the general public".
Australia Post's move to Northbank Plaza aligns with the organisation's commitment to provide high quality mail and parcel services to all Australians and the organisation looks forward to capitalising on its new location at Northbank Plaza.
Australia Post Commercial Manager Queensland, Helen Brodie said: "The new location offers our business increased space, in a prime CBD location with a contemporary new setting."
